POWERLINK is a patent-free, manufacturer-independent and completely software-based communication system for hard real time. The technology was first presented to the public in 2001. From 2003 the Ethernet POWERLINK Standardization Group (EPSG) standardized, promoted, further developed the POWERLINK technology and has made available as a free open source solution. After its dissolution in the year 2023 B&R Industrial Automation GmbH took over the responsibilities of EPSG providing information, support and certification.

The documents have been provided by Ethernet POWERLINK Standardisation Group (hereinafter referred to as “EPSG”). As a consequence of the EPSG being dissolved from March 31st, 2023, B&R Industrial Automation GmbH will – as the formal successor of EPSG regarding the rights and content – make the documents available as open source on it’s own website subject to the conditions mentioned in the disclaimer of the documents. B&R Industrial Automation GmbH especially disclaims liability for any personal injury, property or other damage, of any nature whatsoever, whether special, indirect, consequential, or compensatory, directly or indirectly resulting from the publication, use of, or reliance upon this, or any other EPSG Standard document.
