Automation Studio offers end-to-end simulation that allows applications to be configured and tested without requiring hardware. RobotStudio® is a physics-based 3D simulation software tool with real-time capability for virtual commissioning of mechatronic systems. CAD data for systems can be imported into RobotStudio® to create digital twins that can then be connected to Automation Studio.
All exercises are performed in an Automation Runtime Simulation (ArSim) as well as in the B&R industrialPhysics edition.
Learning objectives and content
- Participants will get an overview of terminology related to virtual commissioning and simulation.
- Participants will receive information about the development process ranging from the model to simulation and virtual commissioning.
- Participants will get an overview of the different levels of simulation and the respective areas of application.
- Participants will learn how to work with industrialPhysics.
- Participants will learn how to make individual elements in an industrialPhysics project dynamic.
- Participants will learn how to create projects in industrialPhysics.
- Participants will learn how to establish an online connection between an industrialPhysics model and an Automation Studio project.
Tasks include
- Participants will create simulation models.
- Participants will determine all necessary parameters for smooth operation of a system or machine.
- Participants will develop an optimal control concept for a system or machine.
- Participants will verify controllers using simulation models.
